For Visitors

Rowan Boulevard and Downtown Glassboro have been envisioned as a lively college-town setting for shopping, dining, cultural and community activities. Conveniently located at the center of Gloucester County, New Jersey, this bustling downtown is easily accessible for the nearly 350,000 people living within 10 miles of Glassboro. Tens of thousands of visitors flock to downtown for annual activities, including the Glassboro Vintage South Jersey Wine Festival, the “Best of Gloucester County” Memorial Day Parade, the Labor Day Weekend Cruise Night and Car Show, and the weekly outdoor Glassboro Marketplace. These annual events support downtown merchants and actively engage residents, the University and visitors alike.

The Borough of Glassboro is spearheading efforts to improve transportation options for visitors. Glassboro supports the Glassboro-Camden Light Rail Line that will the community to Philadelphia, Atlantic City and beyond. Grants are in place to explore shuttle service options for downtown and the University campus, and regional transportation studies are underway to improve public transit serving Glassboro and surrounding communities. The County of Gloucester is in the midst of a bike trail project, including a path that will go through Downtown Glassboro with a spur taking bikers and runners directly to Rowan Boulevard.
